Logistics is one of the single largest industries in the world. Globally, logistics is an $8-$12 trillion dollar industry and in the US alone, ~$2 trillion, representing ~10% of GDP. A single percent of improvement drives profound change to every corner of the world --- from the cost of our goods, to the livelihoods of local communities, to even the impact on our environment. To reshape the industry, at TruckSmarter, our focus is first on truck drivers. Trucks move 71% of freight in America (~$800bn annually) & the trucking industry represents nearly 6% of the full-time jobs in the country. If you look around you, every item has sat on a truck at one point on its journey to you. However, despite the industry being one of the greatest levers of innovation throughout history, it is still deeply fragmented & structurally misaligned. Our mission is to fix that --- and we need your help.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer who is excited to ship great products, while keeping a healthy balance of velocity and engineering excellence. You will be joining as one of the very first FE engineers at the company. We will depend on you to make major architectural decisions and define our vision for web development.

Some languages we use today --- React-Native, React, Typescript. There’s no need to be a prior expert in our stack --- it’s more important that you’re good at picking up technologies quickly.

• Solving problems with pragmatic yet sophisticated solutions --- you know how to strive for simplicity without compromising the more complex use cases

• Shaping the culture and leading the team through recruiting, mentorship, and establishing best practices

• Comfortable with giving feedback to and gathering feedback from other designers across product and brand

• Work cross-functionally with the team to shape the product from strategy, definition to execution, validation, and future iterations.

• Empathizing with the user and being an advocate for user experience

What Excites Us

• 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer post-graduation

• At least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
