Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in network infrastructure, outside plant planning, or data center connectivity project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and reviewing site infrastructure and conduit designs.
  • Advanced ability to work with geospatial tools and KMZ/KML files.
  • Strong understanding of dense wavelength-division multiplexing technology, inline amplification requirements, and the technical lifecycle of managed optical fiber network deployments.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex fiber leases, indefeasible right of use agreements, and construction contracts.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and external vendors to meet regional deployment timelines.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country in which they apply and must provide proof of employment eligibility as a condition of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Network Technical Project Managers, dense wavelength-division multiplexing engineers, Infrastructure Technical Data Center teams, Network Procurement, and Construction departments to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Partner with the site selection team to evaluate connectivity feasibility and lead technical validation of long-haul wave proposals and dark fiber options for data center and point-of-presence selections.
  • Lead the technical architecture of fiber pathways from the 0 manhole to internal access panels, and oversee manhole placement, conduit systems, and site entry-point designs to ensure route diversity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on Point of Entry and Meet-Me Room layouts, ensuring space, power, and structural readiness for high-capacity, multi-carrier fiber and Managed Optical Fiber Network arrivals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional and continental Internet service providers, private dark fiber owners, and utility providers.
  • Collaborate with Network Procurement on the RFx process for last-mile, middle-mile, and long-haul capacity, and lead negotiations for indefeasible right of use agreements, long-term leases, and Managed Optical Fiber Network service structures.
  • Coordinate with fiber owners to secure rack space, power, and environmental resources within inline amplification sites.
  • Maintain internal databases of fiber and connectivity routes, including KMZ/KML file management.
  • Use AutoCAD to review, modify, and create site infrastructure and conduit design plans for physical plant deployments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of the regional fiber landscape, including utility rights-of-way and regional infrastructure challenges.
  • Experience with large-scale 100 Tbps or greater capacity planning and deployment.
  • Ability to read and create Python or Go code relevant to the position.
  • Knowledge of service-provider or data center Internet Protocol networking.

Nvidia's neocloud revenue surges 138% to $40B, but Palo Alto CEO warns of valuation crash

Nvidia reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.22 per share on revenue of $96.2 billion, beating estimates. Data Centre revenue surged 117% year-over-year to $89 billion, with ACIE segment revenue — including neocloud — jumping 138% to $40 billion.
