Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • At least one year of high school- or college-level coaching and/or swimming and diving experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and insurability by the College's insurance carrier are required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel and establish and maintain strong working relationships is required.
  • The ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision is required.
  • Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association rules and regulations is required.
  • The ability to work evening and weekend hours in all types of weather and travel as necessary is required.
  • The ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, is required.
  • The position requires inside sedentary work and work on different fields and in other fitness environments while coaching and training student-athletes.
  • The position requires lifting, including setting up the scorers' table, and some manual labor.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in developing competitive teams by maximizing student-athletes' talents, teaching and promoting teamwork, supporting their educational goals, and promoting a conducive environment.
  • Assist with equipment, apparel, and facility maintenance as directed by the Head Coach.
  • Conduct individual workouts and instruct and coach student-athletes on techniques and skills outside regular practice.
  • Supervise student workers as assigned.
  • Assist with administrative functions, including budgeting, managing funds, purchasing, travel, and recruiting.
  • Assist the Head Coach with recruiting student-athletes by evaluating and comparing athletic talent for potential growth and development and maintaining correspondence with prospects by phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and supervising individual and team practices and varsity athletic competitions.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in higher education, sports administration, student personnel, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
