Purpose
The Physics Course Grader supports course management in OnRamps PHY 102M, an algebra-based lab course, through grading of student assessments. The Physics Grader works in close collaboration with the OnRamps Lab Team and Physics Team to deliver timely and thoughtful feedback and scores using Canvas SpeedGrader.
Responsibilities
Distribution of modules, activities, and other course resources in Quest and Learning Catalytics under the direction of course staff.
Distribution of modules, activities, and other course resources in Canvas - Learning Management System under the direction of course staff.
Participation in course prototyping, user testing, and continuous improvement.
Clerical work directly concerned with record-keeping for classes.
Preparation of classroom materials for OnRamps - Physics Instructors and staff.
Non-instructional work in OnRamps courses or sections.
Other functions directly related to course management.
Required Qualifications
Current undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Physics or related discipline
Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel (creating and using templates), PowerPoint
Experience with Canvas LMS and Quest
Recommendation from at least one professional or academic reference
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives
Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with JavaScript, Learning Catalytics, MS Outlook, and/or Smartsheet
Recommendation from more than one professional or academic reference
Salary
$12.00 - $14.50 hourly
