Participation in clinical, research and educational activities as they relate to the Division of Surgical Oncology and the Department of Surgery with a special emphasis on leading and growing our nationally recognized HIPEC program
Responsible for delivering care of Surgical Oncology patients at the University of Miami Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
In collaboration with the Division Chief, will be part of implementing the Division's strategic plan which sets forth clinical, financial, educational and research divisional objectives to support and complement the mission statement of the Department, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the affiliated Hospitals
Participate in all divisional activities, perform patient care activities for surgical oncology patients, develop an independent practice and become involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows
Responsible for pursuing research protocols and/or grants, secure independent funding and be an integral part of the academic enterprise in the Division of Surgical Oncology and at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center
Work collaboratively with other departments to help to grow the surgical oncology research program
Demonstrate a caring attitude and be able to fulfill service responsibilities in the most cost effective, customer friendly manner
Board certified in surgery, be able to obtain and maintain a valid DEA Registration and Florida Medical License, and an ACGME approved surgical oncology fellowship
3 – 5 years post fellowship clinical experience in the field of HIPEC, preferred
Possess personal and professional integrity and the highest ethical standards that can be a model for faculty, staff, students and residents
