Requirements
  • Three years of full-time professional experience working in a office engaged in day to day operations in criminal justice, 18 months of which must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity.
  • Familiarity with the criminal justice operations and actors in New York City
  • Operational leadership and success designing and implementing innovative neighborhood-based crime control programs
  • Project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide thought leadership on areas of emerging concern in criminal justice processes
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with senior law enforcement officials at the federal, state, and city level for neighborhood safety and high crime areas work
  • Develop and coordinate the execution of neighborhood-based multi-agency strategies focused on the reduction of crime, particularly violent crime
  • Identify and develop new ideas to prevent and reduce crime in high crime areas
  • Provide fiscal, operational, and programmatic oversight to programs and services within the ONS portfolio
  • Build relationships connecting key partners to the ONS/CMS work
  • Manage staff members responsible for data reporting, community engagement, agency coordination, and problem solving
  • Direct strategy and implementation of ONS initiatives to respond to the social determinants of community violence
  • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholder groups, government agencies, community non-profits, advocates, family members, survivors, and justice-impacted individuals
  • Represent at meetings with community-based, governmental, and business entities
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned
