Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
  • Florida Department of Health Dietitian/Nutritionist license required.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the National Research Council’s Recommended Dietary Allowances.
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) required.
Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocol/guidelines.
  • Utilizing hospital policies and procedures to provide timely and appropriate nutrition intervention and therapy within the scope of practice defined by the hospital.
  • Developing a therapeutic plan of specialized nutrition support, including enteral and/or parenteral nutrition.
  • Providing recommendations for an individualized plan for nutrition intervention.
  • Adhering to budget restraints, managing resources (time and materials) in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintaining dietetic registration, state licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Serving as an evidence-based resource for other healthcare professionals and the community.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in the acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience using Meditech, electronic medical record and CBORD, nutritional software-preferred.
  • Experience in calculation needs for pediatric, adult and elderly patients-preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows-preferred.
