AtmosZero, a Loveland, Colorado-based startup, has raised $28.5 million to commercialise electric heat pump technology that replaces fossil-fuelled industrial boilers. Founded in 2022, the company is developing an electrified steam system for industries including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. The company's first pilot installation began operating in May 2025 at New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins. Investors include Energy Impact Partners, Engine Ventures, 2150, Constellation Technology Ventures, Starlight Ventures and AENU. AtmosZero's system uses electricity to power high-temperature heat pumps that generate steam at industrial temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit without on-site emissions. The company also received $1.8 million from the Colorado Energy Office and up to $24.3 million in federal tax credits. Volume deliveries are planned for 2027.

AtmosZero, in partnership with Colorado State University, seeks to develop a modular high-temperature heat pump system with the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions from on-site heat generation in the U.S. industrial sector.
