Requirements
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or another recognized regional or national accreditation board, or equivalent.
  • Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified designation is required, or the employee must achieve this designation within six months of hire; failure to achieve or maintain the designation results in termination of employment.
  • A valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider cardiopulmonary resuscitation card is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to medical assistants.
  • Schedule and assign medical assistants to ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Train medical assistants and others and serve as a resource to other clinical providers.
  • Participate in the interview process for medical assistants and other clinical hires.
  • Train and orient new employees.
  • Manage clinic flow by effectively prioritizing work tasks to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and clinic needs are met.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate, and culturally sensitive education to clinic patients.
  • Oversee coordination of care by assisting providers in maintaining clinic processes to ensure timely follow-up on reported test results.
  • Perform related duties as required.
