Requirements
  • Expertise in Agency mortgage-backed securities products, including to-be-announced securities, specified pools, and collateralized mortgage obligation structures.
  • Understanding of market-making, hedging strategies, and portfolio risk management.
  • Proficiency in daily profit-and-loss preparation, reconciliation, and risk reporting.
  • Ability to conduct prepayment analysis and mortgage relative value assessments.
  • Experience collaborating with modeling, research, and technology teams to enhance trading analytics and infrastructure.
  • The role is regulated by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Responsibilities
  • Execute trades and manage risk across a defined portfolio of Agency mortgage-backed securities and related financial instruments while aligning with market conditions and firm strategy.
  • Execute buy and sell orders or price liquidity in financial instruments while adhering to trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Support daily market-making and hedging activities.
  • Monitor and analyze global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Monitor the trading portfolio's risk and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk-management guidelines.
  • Maintain oversight of risk metrics, profit-and-loss reporting, and trade accuracy.
  • Collaborate with structurers, sales teams, research teams, technology partners, and other functions to support trading decisions and enhance deal execution.
  • Use technical expertise in mortgage products and analytical skills to identify relative value opportunities and improve risk-adjusted returns.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop policies and procedures supporting controls and governance.
  • Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work performed.
  • Conduct complex analysis of data from internal and external sources to solve problems effectively.
  • Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Capital One completes $1.7B senior notes offering in two tranches maturing 2032 and 2037

Capital One Financial has completed a €1.5 billion public offering of fixed-to-floating rate senior notes. The offering consists of two tranches maturing in 2032 and 2037, with coupons of 4.326% and 4.832% respectively. The notes were sold through an underwriting syndicate including Barclays Bank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Capital One Securities. They were issued under existing senior indenture arrangements and registered under the Securities Act of 1933. Capital One entered into a paying agency agreement with The Bank of New York Mellon's London branch to administer payments on the euro-denominated securities. The transaction provides Capital One with continued access to international capital markets and diversifies its funding base through long-dated euro senior notes.

Barclays lifts S&P 500 target to 7,950 on strong earnings and AI spending

Barclays has raised its year-end S&P 500 target to 7,950 from 7,800, driven by strong earnings growth and artificial intelligence-related spending. The bank's US equity strategist Venu Krishna increased the 2026 earnings forecast to $365 per share from $337, whilst the 2027 estimate rose to $414 from $389. Big Tech profits surged 35% year-on-year in the second quarter, with 86% of S&P 500 companies exceeding Wall Street estimates. Cloud providers are expected to spend over $1.1 trillion by 2027, with Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta Platforms accounting for much of that investment. Barclays joins other firms including JPMorgan, CFRA, and HSBC in raising index targets.

Rogo bags $30M from Citi, Barclays, BNP Paribas and Société Générale to expand AI banking tools

Rogo Technologies has secured strategic investments from Citi, Barclays, BNP Paribas and Société Générale, adding roughly $30 million to its coffers. The 2021-founded company develops AI software that automates routine investment-banking tasks like building slide decks and Excel models for clients including JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America. Nine global banks with combined $20 trillion in assets now back the company. Rogo raised $160 million at a $2 billion valuation earlier this year. The company plans to expand beyond investment banking into wealth management, automating portfolio reviews and client relationship analysis. Chief executive Gabe Stengel said the investments signal "AI for this industry has shifted from experiment to infrastructure".

Dell raises $5B in bond sale as AI server demand drives stock up over 400%

Dell is raising $5 billion through an investment-grade bond sale, attracting approximately $23 billion in investor orders at peak demand — nearly five times the offering size. The company, initially targeting $4 billion, is issuing bonds across four tranches with maturities from three to 10 years. Proceeds will repay notes maturing this year, including $2.3 billion due in October, and fund general corporate purposes. The sale reflects strong investor confidence in Dell's AI server business, which has driven the company's stock to quadruple this year. Dell recently increased its fiscal-year sales forecast by $25 billion, securing contracts for machines featuring Nvidia AI chips and traditional servers. Eight banks are managing the offering, part of 16 US investment-grade deals this week.
