Your Impact
The AXON Internship Program is designed to develop emerging professionals by providing them unique opportunities to impact the world.
As an Embedded Systems Intern, you have you have exposure to microcontrollers, embedded Linux, and a strong command and a strong command of one or more object-oriented programming languages. Your passion is embedded systems and learning new technologies to come up with innovative solutions for customer problems. In this role you will learn to develop high quality mission critical software in a collaborative environment while using modern frameworks and tools.
This role will enable you to elevate your skills to the next level. As an intern, you will have regular 1:1s with your mentor, an experienced engineer on your team. You will get career advice through regular meetings with your manager, who is accountable for developing the careers of their reports. As part of your internship, you’ll get visibility by presenting your ideas, vision, and accomplishments to executive leadership.
What You’ll Do
Location: Seattle, Scottsdale or Remote US/ Canada
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager
- Develop high quality code for a range of microcontrollers and SOCs for complex system features
- Own and drive end-to-end features with Product and Design
- Ensure that your code hits a high bar for quality and performance
- Work together with like-minded people who are passionate about our mission
- Work with the latest open source technologies
- Have mentorship from experienced engineers who will assist in enhancing your technical skills and by managers who are passionate about developing your career
What You Bring
- You are a Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering Degree with a focus on programming. (only open to students who are set to graduate in 2024)
- Experience in C/C++ and object oriented programming
- Exposure to systems programming with eLinux or RTOS, and developing on peripherals and sensors either in classwork or extracurricular activities (e.g., Robotics)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Self-starter who thrives with problem-solving and embraces ambiguity
- Prior internship experience a plus
- Leadership experience via sports or clubs a plus
