Requirements
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with advanced WordPress internals, including hooks, REST APIs, custom routing, capabilities, transients, and object caching.
  • Proficiency with custom data modeling at scale, specifically JetEngine custom post types, meta fields, relations, and REST writes.
  • Experience inspecting direct SQL databases using phpMyAdmin.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production membership sites, including deep knowledge of MemberPress and Stripe integration troubleshooting.
  • Ability to validate and sanitize input, secure REST endpoints, protect authentication flows, and handle billing and single sign-on systems with high-risk rigor.
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis in complex extract, transform, and load and application programming interface setups, make surgical edits, and test thoroughly on staging.
  • Advanced written and spoken English skills, with the ability to explain technical root causes clearly to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Execute implementation plans from written specifications and checklists.
  • Write, test, and debug code across custom plugins, ensuring releases are validated on staging before production deployment.
  • Own the technical release calendar and manage WordPress core, plugin, and infrastructure updates.
  • Verify backups and perform database sanity checks.
  • Enforce security protocols including input sanitization, nonces, capability checks, secret management, rate limiting, web application firewall rules, and access control on custom REST endpoints.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for member access issues, billing anomalies, single sign-on problems, and session bugs.
  • Resolve routine technical issues directly and escalate complex defects with actionable technical write-ups.
  • Perform regression testing across checkout, single sign-on, course progression, and community features after deployments.
  • Partner with the Technical Lead to maintain and integrate external Python microservices and real-time streaming architectures using Massive.com WebSockets and Firebase Firestore/Realtime Database.
  • Build technical documentation and runbooks to ensure platform operability and continuity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with real-time architectures using Firebase Firestore or Realtime Database and Python-based microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with financial market data APIs, including Massive/Polygon REST and WebSockets.
  • Familiarity with BuddyBoss, LearnDash, FastCron, or external OAuth implementations.
