Requirements
  • Preferred field(s) of study: public policy, economic development, urban planning, and/or sector-specific programs are a plus
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program
Responsibilities
  • Assist Innovation Industries teams in all aspects of the project management lifecycle, including strategic analysis, procurement and planning, partnership development, and project implementation
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on industries and emerging trends in NYC and globally, including stakeholder interviews as necessary
  • Provide support on all aspects of project planning and implementation, including but not limited to financial analysis, contract and procurement management, site visits and other steps as necessary
  • Create presentations that effectively communicate research findings, project findings and/or project recommendations to multiple audiences
  • Help project teams plan, coordinate, and execute events supporting the full range of projects and portfolios
  • Assist in drafting memorandums, and other materials for pre- and post-launch projects
  • Other duties as assigned
