Requirements
  • Seven years of industry experience, including a combination of brokerage, third-party logistics, and sales or service experience.
  • Three years of experience obtaining, retaining, and growing a team and brokerage book of business.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge of the third-party logistics and transportation industry.
  • Ability to solicit new customers and meet specific revenue targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, productivity programs, and other technology systems.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver on growth and profitability targets to position KNX as a best-in-class, asset-based third-party logistics provider.
  • Provide leadership to a team of transportation analysts buying and selling freight.
  • Align the group for rapid and profitable growth through training, development, and coaching.
  • Contribute to the strategies and tactics of the KNX Logistics organization.
  • Build and optimize carrier partner and alliance relationships to deliver customer value and efficient freight transportation.
  • Create and provide brokerage solutions for complex freight conditions.
  • Develop key carriers through increased volume, profitability, and service offerings.
  • Address escalated and complex carrier issues, provide problem resolution, and deliver solutions that ensure carrier satisfaction.
  • Manage the team's hourly refusal and acceptance of the VIP load board from the asset division.
  • Build carrier capacity by identifying continuous moves, drop-trailer, and backhaul opportunities.
  • Monitor lead management, buy-versus-DAT activity, daily load count, loads per carrier or buyer, outbound calls, margin, and fuel metrics.
  • Provide oversight of rate and term negotiations.
  • Promote communication and follow-up to grow the existing carrier base and reduce new-carrier reliance through outbound calls and fewer DAT posts.
  • Hold designated brokerage teams accountable for customer-focused performance.
  • Facilitate route optimization and increase usage of key carriers.
  • Provide regular reports to senior-level management.
  • Maintain focus on key performance indicators, reports, metrics, and methods for measuring customer performance and departmental success.
  • Use business-improvement tools and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere that supports the business unit and company expectations.
  • Assist others in achieving organizational objectives.
