Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an approved school or institution for Medical Assistants with current certification required.
  • Current BLS Required
  • Strong pharmacological knowledge
  • Meets or exceeds level I & II
Responsibilities
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Collect copays and cash procedures
  • Assist provider in obtaining microbiological tests
  • Perform tuberculosis screening
  • Screen and follow up patient test results
  • Discuss test results with patients and document conversations
  • Instruct patients on diet and drug dosage modifications
  • Schedule patients for various medical services
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider
  • Evaluate and recommend medical equipment and supplies
  • Instruct patients with special needs on monitoring body functions and safety procedures
  • Provide written and verbal instructions on chronic disease conditions
  • Orient and train personnel in the office
