York Space Systems wins $187M contract to build Tomorrow.io's DeepSky weather satellite constellation

York Space Systems has been selected as prime contractor for the initial phase of Tomorrow.io's DeepSky early warning constellation under a $187 million contract. York will deliver dozens of satellites built on its M-CLASS platform for the proliferated low-Earth orbit constellation. DeepSky aims to close global gaps in atmospheric and oceanic measurements. Each spacecraft will carry five Tomorrow.io instruments, including microwave sounders, GNSS radio occultation, infrared and visible imaging, and precipitation radar, providing a comprehensive view of the atmosphere. The M-CLASS platform offers the power, onboard processing, and thermal management required to run active sensors globally. York will handle end-to-end programme delivery, from spacecraft manufacture through payload integration. York has invested over $755 million in production capabilities to deliver constellations at scale. The company serves national security, government, and commercial customers with proprietary hardware and software solutions across the space ecosystem.

Trending vendor profiles: September 7, 2026. Market Intelligence A closer look at the companies drawing the GovCon community's attention, from major technology firms to specialist healthcare and workforce providers. What's hot in the GovCon market? These 10 company profiles come from those trending in the G2X GovCon Directory over the last 24 hours. Explore the businesses behind that interest, with context on their capabilities and recent developments as you research potential partners, incumbents, and competitors. Guidehouse delivers advisory, technology, and managed services to government and regulated commercial organizations, with work spanning national security, healthcare, energy, and infrastructure. The Navigant name in this profile reflects the business Guidehouse acquired in 2019; the combined firm operates under Guidehouse. The firm recently appointed Kelly Hernandez as chief financial officer and Stuart Brown to the newly created chief transformation officer role. Brown is responsible for integrating AI into Guidehouse's operations, delivery model, and client services. Hernandez joins from Clark Construction Group, following earlier leadership roles at Leidos. Announced in July, the appointments put dedicated finance and transformation leadership behind the firm's investment in technology-enabled delivery. The Tomorrow Companies Inc. operates as Tomorrow.io, a weather-intelligence company combining satellite observations, forecasting models, and operational software. Its platform helps organizations translate changing weather into decisions about transportation, infrastructure, and field activity, including situations where the useful window is measured in minutes. Tomorrow.io announced Pulse in September, bringing its Unified Precipitation model and nowcasting capabilities together for tactical, real-time operations. The update focuses on decisions made while a weather event is unfolding, such as whether conditions will disrupt departures or work at a site. It is part of a broader modeling approach organized around the decision a customer needs to make and the time available to make it. Deloitte's federal practice combines consulting, technology implementation, and operational expertise for civilian, defense, and other government missions. Its work ranges from modernizing digital services to helping agencies manage organizational change and use data more effectively. The profile identifies Deloitte Consulting LLP within the wider Deloitte organization. In August, Deloitte announced expanded AI Controls and Assurance services covering the AI lifecycle. The offering brings together governance frameworks, risk assessments, model validation, and controls work as organizations move from experimentation into operational use. The emphasis is on understanding how AI behaves and where accountability belongs - a relevant part of the broader Deloitte capability picture for agencies and partners assessing AI-enabled transformation. Carahsoft is a public-sector technology distributor connecting software and hardware companies with government customers through reseller partners. Its portfolio spans cloud, cybersecurity, data, and enterprise software, with a distribution model that helps vendors bring their products into the federal, state, and local markets. On September 3, Carahsoft and Factory announced a partnership to bring agent-native software development to the public sector. Factory's software agents are intended to support development work, and the partnership adds Carahsoft's distribution and reseller network to that offering. The development broadens Carahsoft's AI software portfolio around the engineering workflow itself, alongside the infrastructure and security tools agencies use to run and protect applications. Booz Allen Hamilton develops technology and provides engineering and consulting services for civilian agencies, defense organizations, and the intelligence community. Its work includes cybersecurity and AI systems designed for demanding operational environments, where speed matters alongside reliability and human control. The company recently announced a partnership with Andesite AI focused on security operations. The collaboration combines Andesite's Human-AI SOC capabilities with Booz Allen's cyber products and defensive expertise to help analysts investigate and respond to threats. Booz Allen describes the approach as using AI to increase the pace of defensive work while retaining human judgment - a concrete example of its effort to bring commercial AI into mission-focused cyber operations. Google's public-sector business brings cloud infrastructure, data analytics, collaboration tools, and AI to government and education. Its government work includes modernizing applications and helping agencies protect information, with different deployment options for different security and operational requirements. Google announced Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber in September. The company describes Flash as a general-purpose model with improvements in coding, agent workflows, and multi-step reasoning. Flash Cyber is aimed at defensive security work such as finding vulnerabilities and automating patches, with eligible defenders able to apply through the Fairwind Program. Those are Google's broader model announcements; government deployment remains a question of the specific service and environment being considered. CGI Federal is CGI's U.S. subsidiary serving federal agencies across defense, civilian, healthcare, justice, intelligence, and international affairs. Its technology and professional-services work includes systems modernization, data management, cybersecurity, and the operation of mission-critical business systems. The federal business draws on nearly 8,000 professionals. CGI has named Alisa Bearfield to become president of CGI Federal on October 1. Bearfield brings nearly three decades of federal client experience, including leadership of CGI Federal's civilian business. Stephanie Mango, the current president, will move into a global chief administrative officer role. The announced transition keeps an experienced federal leader at the center of the subsidiary's next phase while moving Mango into a broader enterprise remit. Atlassian makes collaboration and work-management software, including Jira and Confluence, used by software, IT, and business teams. For U.S. government organizations, its Government Cloud offers a FedRAMP Moderate-authorized environment that supports agency collaboration and delivery requirements. The company's September 3 research release, The Agentic Pivot, examines the work surrounding code as AI changes software development. Atlassian argues that faster implementation still depends on shared context, planning, verification, and accountability across a team. That focus connects naturally to its role in organizing work: the question is how teams turn AI-assisted coding into a coordinated delivery process, rather than treating code generation as the whole project. Cooper Thomas works at the intersection of health information technology and the people who use it. The company supports electronic health record projects from requirements and development through testing, deployment, data migration, and user training. It also provides medical-record coding, coding education, and audit-review services. Its health IT practice includes privacy and security work for protected health information, system interoperability, and access policies governing information exchange. A separate virtual-training practice supports workshops, conferences, and employee communications, including coaching for subject-matter experts presenting online. Together, those capabilities give the company a focused role in healthcare programs that need both reliable information systems and the training and process support required to use them. Sources. Kelly is a specialty talent and workforce-solutions company whose Government Solutions business supports federal agencies with scientific, clinical, engineering, technology, healthcare, and mission-services expertise. That federal practice sits within a broader company serving both commercial and public-sector employers. Kelly's August second-quarter report put revenue at $1 billion, down 5.8% from a year earlier, while raising its full-year revenue outlook. The company specifically identified reduced demand for U.S. federal government contractors as one contributor to the decline. At the same time, its science, engineering, and technology segment grew sequentially for the first time in more than two years. The results offer a mixed but substantive view of the workforce market around federal delivery. Know the market around the opportunity.
