Requirements
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Basic computer skills, including email, internet use, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- A California driver's license, a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance requirements, and an insured reliable vehicle are preferred.
- Ability to operate an electronic cash register.
- Ability to understand the basic principles of running a retail store, including stocking, merchandise flow, quotas, cash handling, bank deposit procedures, and sales reports.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to cash handling, including change and discounts.
- Ability to read and understand sales reports.
Responsibilities
- Assist the management team with the daily operations of the store.
- Open and close the store.
- Oversee production and retail operations.
- Ensure that staff follow all policies and procedures.
- Ensure that excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.
- Provide leadership, guidance, training, and professional development in a positive environment to motivate staff, increase productivity, and achieve departmental goals.
- Assist in preparing performance evaluations, five-minute goal-setting conversations, and work schedules.
- Maintain the store or department in a clean, safe, and organized condition with merchandise appropriately displayed.
- Document and report concerns or issues promptly to management.
- Support the implementation of organizational initiatives such as the 4DX methodology.
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) credential is preferred.
- Retail experience is preferred.
