Requirements
  • Minimum 6–8 years’ relevant experience with significant hands-on exposure to operational set-ups, client onboarding, fund launches, or investment operations.
  • Demonstrable experience performing and validating operational set-ups (fund, custody, market, instrument and derivatives configurations) and coordinating with third-party providers.
  • Experience managing onboarding and transition events as lead.
  • Practical knowledge of global fund structures (UCITS, AIFs, OEICs, SICAVs) and their operational implications.
  • Good working knowledge of asset classes (public/private equities, fixed income, derivatives ETD/OTC, FX, money markets) and fund accounting/IBOR impacts.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence peers and liaise with external providers.
  • Solid task management skills with demonstrated use of plans.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements affecting onboarding (e.g., MiFID II, FATCA, CRS, AIFMD) with the ability to apply controls in day-to-day work.
  • Experience working with outsourced service providers and familiarity with supplier governance/oversight activities.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with industry platforms such as BRS/Aladdin or similar is desirable.
  • Strong domain knowledge of middle office processes, supplier management and outsourced operating models.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical capability; experienced in root‑cause analysis and mitigating operational risk.
  • Proficient at managing own workload and prioritising effectively.
  • Clear and concise communicator able to liaise with external suppliers, internal teams (change, compliance, product) and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Execute end-to-end delivery of market facing onboarding activities, including operational set-up tasks across all asset classes and markets (listed assets, cash, currency and OTC & ETD derivatives).
  • Perform hands-on operational set-ups for assigned events including: custody, derivative clearing and collateral management set up, cash, currency & OTC counterparty onboarding/set-ups across applicable asset classes.
  • Act as the operational lead for assigned events, coordinating with Business Analysts, or Onboarding Managers to ensure operational readiness and timely cutover.
  • Coordinate directly with external custodians, administrators and third-party providers to secure operational set-ups in downstream systems; manage queries and follow-up to completion.
  • Provide QC of operational set-ups completed by peers (Other senior Manager, Managers, Senior Analysts or equivalent), performing validation checks on account structure, custody instructions, mandate details, market/instrument configurations, settlement instructions and IBOR/fund accounting configuration where applicable.
  • Support supplier oversight activities for assigned items: participate in supplier meetings, contribute to reconciliations and assist remediation tracking for operational defects.
  • Conduct pre-go-live operational readiness checkpoints for assigned events; record outcomes, raise pre-go-live issues and confirm remediation before cutover.
  • Support early post-implementation validation and reconciliations for own events to confirm operationalisation and identify residual defects for remediation.
  • Contribute to risk and compliance by following onboarding procedures, implementing assigned audit actions and escalating control issues promptly.
  • Identify and propose process improvements and small-scale automation/RPA opportunities related to operational set-ups; support UAT and implementation testing for changes.
  • Provide guidance and ad-hoc coaching to more junior colleagues on operational set-up standards and tooling; support knowledge-sharing activities organised by the VP or team lead.
  • Maintain up-to-date onboarding and operational setup procedures and runbooks for tasks within own remit.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory and market developments and ensure work is performed in line with M&G policies and regulatory requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience producing management information and using metrics to drive improvements.
  • Practical familiarity with transition cost analysis, UAT, implementation testing or small-scale automation/RPA projects.
  • Exposure to ESG considerations in product onboarding.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing front-office or market-facing operations role.
