  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or related technical field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience and established relationships with Mid Atlantic Municipal and State clients, in a strategic business development leadership position.
  • A broad understanding of the current and emerging environmental and infrastructure needs, funding challenges of those clients.
  • Highly collaborative and willing and able to work with many stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employee-owners, clients, and community leaders.
  • Growth mindset with 5+ years of demonstrated success in business development and proposal development to municipal and state agencies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership in developing long-term client relationships, building contract sales pipelines, and partnering with operations to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Grow the capacity of the required teams to deliver exceptional value to clients in environmental and infrastructure technical areas.
  • Build a sustainable regional portfolio of new contracts and relationships with Municipal and State Agencies within the Mid-Atlantic Region including NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE and DC Metro while maintaining existing contract portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain a network of relationships with regional Teaming Partners.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support the development of regional delivery teams.
  • Achieving strategic, profitable, regional growth.
  • Attend associations, conferences, networking events to expand the company’s presence.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes, funding opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Successfully pursue new contracts with existing and new clients, diversify the offerings we are providing.
  • Support, as appropriate, the continued development of existing client relationships.
  • Mentor Project Managers and Seller/Doers.
  • Drive development and growth: Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and drive results.
  • Lead internal and external messaging.
  • Assist in staff recruiting and mentoring of project staff.
  • Maintain flexibility in a continuously changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Translate highly technical information so that non-technical decision makers can understand risks and opportunities related to sustainability projects and Weston’s offering.
