About this role

As a foundational member of Picogrid’s engineering team, you will:

• Become the mastermind of our shop floor and the closest collaborator for our VP for Hardware

• Work on PCBAs and structural assembly, using a variety of engineering skills.

• Partner alongside top machine learning, hardware, and software engineers to deliver world-class products.

Responsibilities

• Assume ownership over our shop floor, working with the rest of the engineering team in assembling, maintaining, and operating mechanical and electrical systems

• Obsess about quality, looking for improvements that speed up and simplify processes

• Perform a variety of mechanical tasks, including repetitive and non-repetitive mechanical fabrication, final end product assembly and outsourcing to vendors

• Read engineering diagrams and drawings, use hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws

• Follow electrical schematics and harness drawings, and complete wiring tasks including crimping, building harnesses, wiring switchgear, soldering SMT and through-hole components

• Respect workplace safety guidelines and take LV DC safety seriously

• Travel 15-25% of your time across interesting and unique parts of the country to perform equipment installations and servicing

Some types of experiences we’re especially excited to see:

• 2+ years of experience with electrical/mechanical assembly

• Associate degree

• Military, aerospace, or IC background

• Track record of leadership demonstrated through management, public service, community organizing, or similar experience
