  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science or related field from an accredited university
  • U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” by the USG’s designated Security Office

  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance
Responsibilities
  • Perform repetitive complex tasks according to the Forensic Science Laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the analysis of chemical substances in biological specimens, including postmortem fluids and tissues
  • Perform forensic analytical work on equipment including: Gas Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry, UV/VIS Spectrophotometry, and Immunoassay
  • Record, verify, and maintain laboratory notes in accordance with the Laboratory’s SOP manual
  • Contribute in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions for the Laboratory and participate in the Laboratory’s accreditation process
  • Develop forensically relevant procedures to detect and analyze new and emerging drugs
  • Perform research for acquiring new laboratory equipment
  • Maintain chemical/supply inventory per Laboratory SOPs
  • Calibrate and maintain Laboratory instruments and equipment in compliance with ISO and ABFT requirements
  • Maintain a clean work area
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation, such as GCMS, HPLC, LCMS, or ELISA is preferred
