  • This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field at the PhD degree level with zero to five years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced multiscale, multiphysics simulation tools applicable to the modeling of chemical processes and equipment relevant to chemical engineering and nuclear-chemical engineering systems
  • Create new reduced-order models and submodels related to the fluid flow, heat transfer, thermochemistry, and electrochemistry in multiphase systems
  • Use modeling tools to develop and optimize new processes and equipment designs using high-performance computing
  • Analyze data, prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications, prepare technical reports for sponsors, and attend and make presentations at scientific meetings
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and Laboratory management through status updates, technical research reports, project presentations, and other regular channels.
