Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical or electronics engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent degree is required.
  • Experience administering complex systems and integrations such as Canvas Learning Management System, Student Information Systems, and Clever Integrations.
  • Strong technical aptitude to learn new systems, processes, and backend reporting.
  • Experience developing open standards-based solutions, including web services, web applications, and modern user interfaces.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience implementing features across the software development team and development environment.
  • Ability to design, write, edit, modify, and debug code focused on automating manual tasks.
  • Understanding of relational databases and proficiency with Structured Query Language.
  • Experience with message queue technology and design patterns.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Node.js.
  • At least 3 years of experience with JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services services including S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, and Redshift.
  • Experience with the Amazon Web Services API.
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Experience with a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Experience with ticket tracking and resolving issues for end users.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks, including FBI/BCI checks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and test software solutions for K-12 schools' learning environments.
  • Design, implement, and test RESTful web services using Node.js, Google Apps Script, and Postman.
  • Use Amazon Web Services to build, host, and maintain application environments.
  • Follow best practices for maintaining source-code repositories and branching and merging strategies with Git across multiple codebases and applications.
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
  • Provide analysis and troubleshooting support for production issues and code-deployment activities.
  • Contribute to user-interface design and development.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and product owners.
  • Set up and administer Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, third-party integrations, and systems for new and existing schools joining the company environment.
  • Work with enrollment and development teams to identify complex data mappings into the learning ecosystem.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of systems, including diagnosing anomalies and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Work with school staff, administrators, and operational teams to diagnose system issues and minimize impacts to the learning experience.
  • Perform routine maintenance and application updates on servers and instances.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding maintenance impacts and communicate with affected parties through the Incident/Maintenance team.
  • Work with departments and teams on projects, data requests, automation, and custom reports.
  • Create and maintain documentation and provide training to corporate staff as needed.
  • Support systems during school year-end activities and annual rollovers.
