Job Description
Job Summary:
The Vendor Specialist serves as Procurement support across all centralized departments, regional management, and other cross-functional teams as needed. The Vendor Specialist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services for construction and maintenance projects. The role will also be responsible for tracking vendor compliance to Tricon’s national programs and support key Cost Containment initiatives across the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vendor management, supply chain management, and construction. As part of a rapidly growing company and industry, this position will require innovative thinking and a desire to constantly improve processes and output from the Centralized Operations team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with construction and maintenance managers to support markets in Vendor sourcing (discovery). Identify potential vendors and evaluate them based on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations and company standards
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors. Support Procurement in negotiating contracts and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services
Track and support the management of Vendor Compliance to Tricon’s national programs with vendors and internal stakeholders
Continuously monitor and analyze vendor trends and their impact on the construction industry and company’s performance
Coordination and oversight of vendor performance activities (vendor scorecards, vendor performance against measures, KPI/SLA tracking, effective business reviews etc.) and aggregation of results across the organization
Work closely with Vendor Onboarding to qualify new vendors and help to maintain Tricon’s Vendor Dashboard
Support inventory management for direct-buy programs and SmartHome system demand planning
Operate as a subject matter expert for the chosen technology platform to support and evidence vendor management activities across the business, providing support to others as needed
Lead business reviews with key vendors for major markets with a specific focus on Tricon’s Atlanta market
Collaborate with procurement, legal, and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including adherence to Trion’s Fidelity policy
Qualifications:
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, responds well to questions, demonstrates group presentation skills.
Writes clearly and informatively and presents numerical data in an easy to digest format.
Knowledge of Yardi and Real Estate industry / terminology is a significant plus.
Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and Jaspersoft is a plus.
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and highly analytical.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of budgeting, costing, and reporting systems.
High level of analytical and problem-solving ability where problems are unusual and complex.

Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate’s knowledge, experience and skills.
