Litera launches Firm AI Search and business development intelligence.

Litera launches Firm AI Search and business development intelligence. Litera, the Legal AI platform provider that best unifies the practice and business of law, announced breakthroughs in AI for the Business of Law, helping firms gain complete visibility of their experience data to better manage client relationships and uncover new growth opportunities. Firm AI Search is accessed through Lito, Litera's award-winning Legal AI agent, letting lawyers query their firm's matter, client, and expertise data directly in the tools they already use. Litera also announced new growth intelligence capabilities that surface proactive business development signals with monetary value directly inside Foundation 365. Foundation is the growth intelligence backbone for over 300 of the world's top law firms. Included in its customer roster are 7 of the 8 fastest growing firms in the world, 6 of the 10 highest in Profits per Equity Partner, along with 73 of the 100 most-ranked Chambers firms. "The top Am Law and G200 firms in growth and profitability have been relying on Foundation for many years," said Avaneesh Marwaha, CEO, Litera. "Firm AI Search in Lito now delivers a level of immediate access, connection, and action that we could only dream of a few years ago. Now, lawyers and knowledge professionals have a single conversational interface or inbox to immediately access deep institutional expertise, relationship patterns, and outside market signals. Our North Star has always been about 'maniacal client service,' and we are excited to provide our law firm customers with an entirely new advantage starting today." Built on Litera's deep history in knowledge management, Firm AI Search connects the data that already lives across Foundation, matter systems, and expertise databases into a single conversational interface through Lito. With Lito Lookups, a simple @mention surfaces matter, client, and people records without leaving the chat. Firm AI Search is now generally available to Foundation Cloud customers, with initial rollout to US-based firms. Litera provides dedicated adoption support to help customers realize value on day one. Litera GrowthTech is a legal-native growth technology platform that unifies experience data, relationship intelligence, engagement signals, and marketing execution to help firms see where they are best positioned to win business and act on it. At ILTACON, Litera is showcasing new capabilities: * Foundation 365 Integration with Foundation Proactive ERM powered by Postilize: Automatically surfaces relationship strength, trends, and communication patterns using email and calendar metadata - without accessing message content. Relationship intelligence helps identify strong, weakening, and at-risk relationships. Integrated with Foundation 365, this intelligence can be combined with firm experience and client data to help professionals understand not only who knows whom, but where the firm is best positioned to engage. * Proactive Signals with Monetary Value: Through its integration with Foundation, Proactive combines business development Signals with historical matter and financial data, adding revenue context that helps teams prioritize opportunities based on their potential value to the firm rather than treating every Signal equally. * Proactive Cleanse: CRM data becomes outdated quickly as contacts change companies, roles, titles, and contact information. Proactive Cleanse continuously identifies and validates these changes, achieving 80-85% accuracy and capture rates compared to 30% from email signature scraping alone helping firms maintain accurate, up-to-date contact data at scale while significantly reducing the manual effort required to keep CRM records current. "As legal organizations move from experimenting with AI to embedding it in day-to-day work, the firms that gain an advantage will be those that connect AI to their own institutional knowledge and relationship data," said Ryan O'Leary, Research Director, Privacy and Legal Technology, IDC. "The technology must fit naturally into existing workflows, and firms need education and support to apply it effectively." To share your insights, please write to The ABM at [email protected]

Announced at ILTACON 2026, the company introduced expanded capabilities for Firm AI Search through Lito, its Legal AI agent, alongside new growth intelligence features within Foundation 365. AI Search brings firm knowledge into legal workflows. Firm AI Search allows lawyers and knowledge professionals to use natural language to query firm data, including matters, clients and areas of expertise, directly through Lito. The technology connects information across Foundation, matter management systems and expertise databases through a conversational interface. With Lito Lookups, users can also use @mentions to surface matter, client and people records without leaving their existing workflow. Firm AI Search is now generally available to Foundation Cloud customers, beginning with firms in the United States. Turning relationship data into growth opportunities. Litera also highlighted new capabilities within Litera GrowthTech, its legal-focused growth technology platform that combines experience data, relationship intelligence, engagement signals and marketing execution. New capabilities showcased at ILTACON include: * Relationship intelligence: Foundation 365 can use email and calendar metadata to identify relationship strength, trends and communication patterns without accessing message content. * Proactive Signals with Monetary Value: Business development signals can be combined with historical matter and financial data to help firms prioritize opportunities based on potential revenue. * Proactive Cleanse: Continuously identifies changes to contacts, including companies, roles, titles and contact information, helping firms maintain more accurate CRM records. Foundation serves more than 300 leading law firms, including seven of the eight fastest-growing firms globally and 73 of the 100 most-ranked Chambers firms, according to Litera. Connecting AI with institutional knowledge. Litera said the new capabilities reflect a broader shift among legal organizations from experimenting with AI toward embedding it into everyday workflows. "The firms that gain an advantage will be those that connect AI to their own institutional knowledge and relationship data," said Ryan O'Leary, Research Director, Privacy and Legal Technology at IDC. By combining conversational AI with firm knowledge, relationship intelligence and financial context, Litera aims to help legal professionals not only find information faster but also identify where their firms have the strongest opportunities to deepen client relationships and generate new business.

Legal AI news - Hotshot Collaborates with Litera on Legal Training.

Legal AI news - Hotshot Collaborates with Litera on Legal Training. Hotshot Collaborates with Litera on Legal Training as Firms Rethink Talent Development in the Age of AI Lawyers and firms will soon be able to access their Hotshot subscriptions and library of 400+ courses through Litera's CE Manager, giving firms a connected way to develop talent and manage compliance CHICAGO and NEW YORK - Aug. 20, 2026 - Litera, the Legal AI platform provider that best unifies the practice and business of law, and Hotshot, the learning platform for lawyers used by over half the Am Law 100, regional and boutique firms, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work toward a deepened collaboration that will make Hotshot's practical, on-demand courses accessible through Litera CE Manager, the learning management and CLE compliance platform designed for law firms. Lawyers will be able to discover and firms can assign Hotshot courses, as well as track their completion and eligible credits, all within CE Manager. The integration is expected to be available by Q4, 2026. "As GenAI takes on work that has traditionally been the training ground for junior lawyers, firms are rethinking how they train lawyers for the underlying knowledge and skills needed while also helping lawyers at every level learn to use these tools effectively and responsibly," said Ian Nelson, Co-Founder, Hotshot. (pictured above). "Bringing Hotshot's practical learning into Litera CE Manager will give firms a more connected way to deliver that training, structure development by role and experience level, and manage CLE compliance in one place." Nearly seven in 10 legal professionals now use GenAI tools for work, a figure that more than doubled in a single year, according to the 2026 Legal Industry Report from 8am. Yet the training infrastructure has not kept pace. A 2026 survey from Wolters Kluwer found that over a third of legal professionals report inadequate training and difficulty integrating AI with existing systems, with growing questions about reduced opportunity for junior attorneys as AI takes over routine tasks. The collaboration builds on existing work between Litera and Hotshot on CLE credit tracking. Through the expanded relationship, CE Manager customers will be able to integrate the full Hotshot library of 400+ courses into their learning experience. Hotshot's approach prioritizes practical learning first, with the ability to earn CLE credit layered on top, so lawyers develop useful skills while satisfying compliance requirements rather than treating CLE as a checkbox. "Firms need practical learning that builds real skills and judgment, not just compliance hours," said Valerie Connell, Vice President of Products, Litera. "With Hotshot's courses accessible directly through Litera CE Manager, our customers will get exactly that, within the platform they already rely on." See us at ILTACON in Nashville, August 24-27, Hotshot in booth #775 and Litera in booth #301. Ian Nelson is also speaking at ILTACON on the panel, "Human-Centered AI Adoption: A Practical Training Playbook," on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, 3:30 p.m. CT. About Hotshot Hotshot is a learning platform for lawyers that supports on-demand, interactive, and experiential learning as well as CLE in nearly all MCLE jurisdictions. Litera wins MarTech award for AI legal growth tool.

Litera wins MarTech award for AI legal growth tool. Mon, 10th Aug 2026 (Yesterday) Litera has won the Customer Intelligence Platform of the Year award in the MarTech Breakthrough Awards for Foundation Proactive, a category in the global marketing technology programme. Part of Litera's GrowthTech business, Foundation Proactive is built with technology from Postilize. It is designed for law firms to identify client events, connect them to potential legal work, and prepare tailored outreach for lawyers to approve in Outlook. The recognition puts a legal sector product in a programme more commonly associated with marketing, sales, and advertising technology. MarTech Breakthrough said the awards drew thousands of nominations from more than 15 countries across categories including marketing automation, customer experience, sales technology, and revenue operations. Litera said the product draws on three decades of relationship data. It combines that information with AI tools that flag developments such as executive moves, financings, and restructurings, then suggests communications in a lawyer's own tone. The system also scores and tracks relationship strength, prompts lawyers to maintain contact, and continuously updates CRM records. The aim is to help firms move beyond reactive business development models that rely on referrals or formal pitches. Grant Hewlett, vice president of product for firm intelligence at Litera, linked the product to a broader debate in professional services over whether AI tools can contribute to revenue growth as well as internal efficiency. "While most AI tools help professionals work faster, fewer help them to grow the business," Hewlett said. "That's the gap Foundation Proactive was built to close for law firms. By combining our 30 years of relationship data with AI that surfaces the right client, at the right moment, with the right context, we've turned relationship intelligence into a growth engine. Winning a MarTech Breakthrough Award alongside the best in marketing and revenue technology signals the growth playbook we've built for legal applies far beyond it." Legal growth The award comes as legal technology suppliers expand beyond document drafting and workflow tools into business development and client relationship management. The shift reflects pressure on law firms to show that AI spending can support fee income as well as productivity. Kelsey Dellovo, partner and chief client service officer at Baretz+Brunelle, said the issue had become central in conversations across the legal market. "We work with leaders in legal every day on the challenge of turning AI-driven efficiency into real business growth, and the entire legal industry is grappling with this conversation," Dellovo said. "This recognition validates what we've heard from law firm executives. The growth gap is real, and the solutions that close the gap are starting to be recognized well beyond legal." Postilize, which underpins Foundation Proactive, was founded in 2023 and focuses on legal relationship management. Its technology tracks business events in real time, analyses relationship strength, and automates outreach, integrating with CRM systems and communication tools used by firms. For Litera, the award adds to its push to broaden its position in legal software. The company serves more than 15,000 customers globally and more than 1 million daily users, including nearly all of the Am Law 100, with products spanning drafting, document comparison, contract review, knowledge management, and business development. Award context MarTech Breakthrough described Foundation Proactive as a tool that helps firms act earlier in pursuit of new work. Judges' comments focused on the legal sector's tendency to respond to client demand rather than anticipate it. "Foundation Proactive gives law firms the ability to act, not react," said Steve Johansson, managing director at MarTech Breakthrough. "Most firms operate reactively, responding to RFPs, relying on referrals, and waiting for clients to come to them. Yet many clients spread their legal relationships across multiple firms simultaneously, with many changing firms due to a lack of communication, not pricing or performance. By leveraging Postilize to analyze relationship signals daily and surfacing the right message at the right time, Foundation Proactive keeps firms top of mind so they can deliver value before competitors even recognize the opportunity."
