Requirements
  • At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house, with demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience advising across commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, privacy law, and consumer law.
  • Commercial acumen to provide practical, business-focused legal advice aligned with client objectives.
  • Ability to manage junior lawyers, own client relationships, and take responsibility for complex matters.
  • Ability to manage competing demands effectively and deliver quality work efficiently.
Responsibilities
  • Build and own client relationships as the primary point of contact and trusted business adviser.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and information technology contracts.
  • Advise on intellectual property, licensing, and partnership arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, privacy law, and consumer law matters.
  • Manage, mentor, and train junior lawyers and graduates with the Practice Leader.
  • Share expertise through client articles, webinars, and internal training.
  • Help establish the firm as a leading provider for innovative Australian businesses.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to technology, healthcare, startups, or emerging industries.
  • Experience working with clients in technology, healthcare, software as a service, fintech, healthtech, National Disability Insurance Scheme, or other emerging sectors.
