Requirements
  • California and / or Washington State architecture registration required
  • NCARB preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in an architectural studio
  • At least 5 years of experience leading complex transit projects and managing large, multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in all phases of project development, from conceptualization to detailed execution
  • Strong knowledge of zoning and building codes
  • CA and/or WA specific regulations preferred
  • Highly organized, capable of managing team priorities, time, and deadlines across multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Analytical problem solver with a desire to mentor and inspire others
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage large, complex projects and project teams
  • Shape the design principles that drive projects from conception through execution
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and colleagues as part of the senior design and leadership team to foster a culture of design excellence within Arcadis’ Transit and Aviation Architecture Studio
  • Assist with Transit related Business Development (BD)
  • Help to develop one-year, two-year, three-year business plans collaboratively with the transit facilities practice leads
  • Strengthen a transit-focused design practice in the Western USA, that can support other regions
  • Mentor and develop emerging transit professionals
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with key clients such as, but not limited to LA Metro, OCTA, Amtrak, SANDAG, SCVTA, Sound Transit
