Requirements
- Must be a licensed veterinarian in the state in which the clinic operates or have eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts
- Experience treating cats and dogs in a clinical setting
- Ability to work full-time or part-time as veterinarian
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfort with a busy practice and ability to handle multiple patients
- Willingness to participate in staff training and mentorship programs
- Proficiency in performing common veterinary procedures and diagnostics as appropriate for the role
- Good client communication and empathy skills
- Desire to participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries in cats and dogs
- Perform physical examinations and obtain patient histories
- Develop treatment plans and discuss options with clients
- Perform surgeries as needed within scope of practice
- Administer vaccines and preventive care
- Perform dental procedures
- Administer anesthesia and monitor during procedures as appropriate
- Manage medical records and documentation
- Collaborate with team to ensure high quality patient care
- Provide client education and guidance on at-home care and nutrition
- Participate in emergencies and after-hours coverage if required
- Participate in hospital calls and rounds as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with small animal ultrasound
- Board-certified or residency-trained veterinarian in relevant specialty
- Fear Free handling certification
- Mentorship or teaching experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Current DEA registration
