Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disorders of body systems.
  • High proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient typing skills using QWERTY and 9-key pads for high-volume data entry.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in health information management, health sciences, medical administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience processing and managing physical examinations and medical standards, preferably in a military medical environment such as USAF PES or an equivalent civilian occupational health setting.
  • Must possess or obtain an active favorable Tier 1 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Mandatory completion of DoD Cyber Awareness, HIPAA, and Privacy Act training.
  • Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement due to access to sensitive medical data.
Responsibilities
  • Provide non-personal, administrative, and technical support to the Aerospace and Operational Medicine Division at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command.
  • Receive, track, and review medical data, including medical histories and doctors’ findings, to ensure completeness for government medical provider adjudication.
  • Complete technician-level inputs for front-end and back-end management of medical cases across specialized systems of record.
  • Update and maintain the Aeromedical Waiver Management Information System, Electronic Case Tracking, Physical Exam Processing Program, MEDXS, and ASIMS.
  • Apply International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision coding and medical terminology to document case files accurately.
  • Monitor cases through the full review process, inform Reserve Medical Units of status changes, and provide written instructions for managing incomplete files.
  • Collect and compile data for final case disposition and execute mail-out actions to members.
  • Prepare recurring reports on processing metrics and data quality.
  • Use automated programs to produce databases, spreadsheets, and graphics for division meetings and training.
