Buffalo Bayou Partnership unveils new tour boat, Bayou Breeze. May 7, 2026 HOUSTON, TX (May 7, 2026) - Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) is proud to launch the Bayou Breeze, a new pontoon boat for memorable experiences on Houston's historic waterway, made possible by a generous donation from KBR. For more than two decades, BBP has offered public and private boat tours on Buffalo Bayou, showcasing Buffalo Bayou Park, downtown, and on to the Port from an entirely new perspective. Participants can choose twilight cruises for sunset skyline views, excursions to view the nightly emergence of 300,000 Mexican Free-tailed bats at the Waugh Drive Bridge Bat Colony, or tours exploring the history of the city and bayou. Embarking from Allen's Landing in downtown - known as the birthplace of Houston - attendees can expect to see a wide variety of locations, urban landscapes, and native wildlife such as Great Egrets, Black-crowned Night Herons, splashing fish, and turtles. Watching the bustling city unfold while floating the gentle currents brings a greater appreciation and understanding of the significant role the waterway plays in the history and culture of the "Bayou City." "We believe the connection to a sense of place is essential for a strong community, and there's nothing quite like being on the water to help you slow down and tune into the city and environment around you," says Anne Olson, Buffalo Bayou Partnership President. The Association of Corporate Counsel's Houston Chapter and The Texas Lawbook announced Monday the recipients of the 2026 Houston Corporate Counsel Awards for Business Litigation of the Year, M&A Transaction of the Year, Creative Partnership, Corporate Legal Department of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Rookie of the Year. ACC-Houston and The Lawbook disclosed the GCs of the Year, Senior Counsel of the Year, Harry Reasoner Pro Bono Advocacy and Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion honorees last week. The annual Houston Corporate Counsel Awards recognize the successes of the corporate in-house legal community. The Houston Corporate Counsel Awards celebrate the exceptional legal talent driving business success across its city, honoring the in-house counsel who work tirelessly behind the scenes to protect and advance the companies and communities that make Houston thrive," said ACC Houston President Emily K. Shields. "When accomplished lawyers take time to nominate a peer, it speaks volumes about the standard of excellence this recognition represents."
