In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Support, design, develop, or test mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering systems used for reporting manufacturing information. Maintain and upgrade systems that interface data between other first party Samsung systems or report factory health information such as interlocks, equipment maintenance, and material quality. Work closely with fab and quality engineering teams to investigate needs and implement solutions. Participate in standardization deployments and existing application development with other sites in global manufacturing network. Provide Quality Assurance testing and after release monitoring of changes to existing systems. Communicate system change points and issue resolutions clearly to members in the department and internal customers in the company. Work with international and local team members to resolve issues and ensure proper integration with other related systems. Develop customer facing documentation, including troubleshooting and problem resolution steps and take ownership of escalated technical issues for resolution. Assist in creating design specs to outline proposed changes to existing systems in order to fulfill customer requirements. Plan periodically for preventative maintenance activities and provide awareness of system performance and reliability and contribute to the training material as needed for the owned systems. Utilize knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic systems, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various Samsung systems. (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 36 months in the Job offered or in a related occupation.
Requires 36 months of experience involving the following:
1. Monitoring and debugging test failures;
2. Design and analysis;
3. API design;
4. Cloud services;
5. Design optimization;
6. SQL (Oracle, SSMS), Java, and Python; and
7. Shell/ Bash/ PowerShell, Kafka/ Queues.
