Requirements
  • A qualified faculty member must possess specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught, as indicated in the Curriculum of Record.
  • A qualified faculty member must have five years of directly related work experience in the field specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record, or possess a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to the course objectives and directly linked to the listed credentials, certifications, and competencies.
  • Applicants must be ASE Certified.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment reflecting the broad backgrounds represented by students and employees, in which every individual feels respected and valued.
  • Applicants must include a cover letter and an unofficial transcript with their application.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and coworkers in a professional and cooperative manner and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
  • Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
