Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a systems administrator, specifically with Microsoft technologies, is required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and file and print services, is required.
  • Proficiency managing Exchange 2010/2016 Server and Exchange Online environments, including mail flow, mailbox management, and security, is required.
  • Proficiency in network administration, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, and VPN technologies, is required.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, is required.
  • Experience with endpoint protection and device management using Microsoft Defender and Intune is required.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V is required.
  • Familiarity with storage technologies such as SAN and NAS and backup and recovery solutions is required.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure is required.
  • A solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are required.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively is required.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), SC-300 Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, and AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator certifications are listed as qualifications.
  • A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required.
  • Valid authorization to work in Canada for at least 37.5 hours per week is required.
  • Availability for after-hours and on-call support is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and assist them in implementing solutions.
  • Design, implement, and operate Microsoft Defender and Intune solutions for endpoint protection, device management, and compliance across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related workloads.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, optimize resource utilization, and perform necessary upgrades and patches.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to plan, deploy, and maintain Windows-based applications, services, and updates.
  • Evaluate and select hardware, software, and networking technologies to meet organizational needs.
  • Track and renew applicable software and system licenses.
  • Configure systems for service-level agreement compliance using load balancing, fault tolerance, and scalable architecture where required.
  • Manage configuration and provisioning of Microsoft Windows operating systems on-premises and in the cloud, including Azure and AWS.
  • Manage and administer hybrid Exchange Server infrastructure.
  • Ensure system and data integrity through regular audits, monitoring, and security measures.
  • Implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices related to infrastructure systems engineering.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains in infrastructure management.
  • Provide timely technical expertise internally and to clients, including rotational on-call support and off-hours system maintenance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with one or more of Kaseya, OTRS, Intune, ITGlue, Horizon Client, or Remote Desktop Services is preferred.
