Classification: Temporary Full Time Hours (Maximum 6 months), Unionized

Salary Range: $31.05 as per Schedule “A”

Hours of Work: As per CA.

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Regularly perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
2. Diagnose and repair small equipment i.e. concrete saws, trimmers and pumps
3. Perform other duties related to the Fleet Services department such as fabrication, cleaning and maintenance
4. Wash and clean corporate vehicles
5. Pick up and deliver corporate vehicles
6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
7. Attend training seminars and classes
8. Carry out work assignments in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act requirements, and any other safety policies, procedures and regulations, etc.
9. Ensure that all necessary personal protective equipment (e.g. safety boots, hearing protection, eye protection, etc.) is used and is maintained in good condition.
10. Responsible for reporting work accomplishments, resources used, and time
11. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma
• Must be proficient with hand tools and power tools
• Valid DZ driver’s license in good standing
• Must have an excellent understanding of mechanics and vehicle / equipment operation
• Must work well independently and with others
• Experience servicing vehicles or equipment preferred
• Experience rebuilding/repairing small equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret parts & service manuals as well as wiring schematics preferred
• Technologically competent and able to navigate online parts and schematic sources

Working Conditions:

• Subject to working in all weather conditions.
• Subject to usual garage conditions such as moderate amounts of noise, dust, grit, oil/grease, fumes, solvents or paints.
• Required to do heavy lifting.
• Subject to shift work and overtime as required.
