How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Principal Scientist in our Cell Biology group, you will have a direct impact on the Arcellx drug pipeline, both as a thought leader and a lab-based contributor. Our potentially life-saving treatments would not exist without the work of our talented scientists. Your work as a member of our experienced cross-functional team will drive discovery, characterization, and optimization of novel cell-based therapies.    

The “Fine Print” – What You’ll Do

• Lead and contribute to pipeline programs or technology development initiatives, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely generation and dissemination of critical program data to enable decision-making.
• Recruit, manage and develop junior lab-based scientists.
• Develop program strategy and drive the delivery of key pre-clinical data in support of program progression.
• Manage external relationships with contract research organizations (CROs).
• Stay up to date with relevant technical and intellectual scientific expertise in tumor biology and cancer modelling, particularly as it relates to CAR-T cell biology.

Skills and Experience We Look For

• Ph.D. with 4+ years of industry experience in cancer drug development. Specific backgrounds of interest are:
  • Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cells or TCR-therapies
  • Cancer Immunotherapy/Immuno-oncology
  • T-cell biology
• Expertise in manipulating immune cells, particularly T cells, including purification, transfection/transduction, activation and expansion.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully recruit and develop scientific talent.
• Experience leading a cross-functional project team, including basic project management skills.
• Expertise in in vivo models of human cancer, including cell line derived xenografts and patient-derived xenografts.
• Expertise in markers of T-cell phenotype, function, and long-term potency.
• Proficiency with complex immune cell assays including multiparameter flow cytometry, in vitro cell based assays live cell analysis, and multiplex assays.
• Experience writing and evaluating preclinical sections of investigational new drug applications is highly desirable.
• Commitment to ethical scientific investigations and rigorous experimental methods.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills that promote a productive lab environment.
