  • Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.
  • A successful completion of a 30-hour approved intravenous therapy course may be required for specific clinics.
  • Hold a current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Florida and renew it every two years.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Have three years of directly related experience.
  • Possess knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards.
  • Be skilled in documenting patient care, including reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of clinical staff within the department, with operational and clinical supervisory responsibility.
  • Supervise personnel and manage compliance with organizational policies and procedures, facility operations, patient scheduling, and business reporting functions.
  • Participate in hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions for assigned team members.
  • Review daily staffing requirements and adjust clinic schedules to support patient care.
  • Monitor workflow and report staffing and operational information to team members, managers, and providers.
  • Identify team-member training needs and facilitate development opportunities, including training evaluation, implementation, orientation, and education programs.
  • Coordinate purchasing of specialized equipment and supplies for the assigned clinic.
  • Communicate patient-condition information to physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare-team members.
  • Assist physicians in creating strategies for practice efficiency and growth.
  • Provide management reports to physicians and administration for review, practice planning, marketing, and practice development.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants in the outpatient clinic.
  • Provide department-level orientation to new team members covering system software, telephone processes and protocols, office equipment, departmental policies and procedures, customer-service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable organizational and legal standards.
  • Ensure the clinic complies with safety, regulatory, and organizational policy requirements.
  • Educate and supervise clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Participate in assigned nursing performance-improvement activities under the guidance of an advanced practice provider or registered nurse.
  • Use supplies efficiently and maintain a clean, safe, and organized unit.
  • Support service-line leadership in ensuring clinic staff comply with safety and regulatory guidelines.
