This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Location: Hybrid in Arlington VA or Houston TX
This role is responsible for the strategy and execution of advanced, differentiated solutions across Fluence’s suite of software and controls products. This role primarily focuses on the product management of subscription services (Annual Recurring Revenue drivers) for Fluence OS, Fluence’s operating system for BESS system control. This role is a part of the Digital platform harmonization team and reports to Director of Digital Platform Harmonization. This role will work cross-functionally across core Fluence and Fluence Digital to identify and manage new and emerging opportunities for annual recurring revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Identify, evaluate, and execute priority and emerging opportunities driving annual recurring revenue for Fluence Digital
•Oversee development and execution of those ARR opportunities that utilize Fluence’s suite of software and controls products
•Own Fluence’s multi-generational product plan (MGPP) and roadmap for the target areas above. Collaborate with Fluence’s Growth team, regional teams, and Commercial teams to ensure both the MGPP and roadmap meet their needs today and are forward looking to address needs in the future.
•Responsible for communicating the strategy, roadmap, and value propositions of Fluence’s software & controls capabilities to both external and internal stakeholders.
•Work with cross-business Product Managers to ensure the software & controls capabilities and limitations are factored into the MGPPs and roadmaps for their products.
•Work with the Technical Agile development teams to ensure the technical solutions they develop meet the needs of Fluence’s customers.
•Support the Regional sales teams and Fluence Digital sales teams by responding to customer proposal questions and engaging with customers to clarify requirements around software & controls.
•Work with the Regional and strategy teams to conduct competitor analyses and stay current with market trends and innovation in the software & controls space.
•Develop an understanding of needs based on customer requirements, industry standards, and regional regulations, evaluate the business case of implementing those needs in products, and communicate those needs to the engineering team via requirements.
•Gather, analyze, and act on customer feedback to inform product enhancements and future product development.
•Conduct product presentations to internal stakeholders as well as external customers.
What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding software & controls.
- Strong understanding of the energy industry
- Software & Controls development background preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of Agile development methods.
- Proven ability to work across multiple teams and projects concurrently, in a technical business environment.
- Ability to utilize data and statistical analyses to inform decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Periodic time zone flexibility to support customers and colleagues across the world.
- Ability to travel internationally (~20% of the time)
