Requirements
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification is required.
- At least 2 years of dental assisting experience is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the dental profession, is required.
- A valid X-ray certificate is required.
- A current license is required for Certified Dental Assistants, Registered Dental Assistants, or Expanded Functions Dental Assistants, as required by state regulations.
- A CPR and first aid certificate is required.
- Strong knowledge of restorative, crown and bridge, implant, and general dentistry procedures is required.
- Open availability for all scheduled days, including Saturdays, is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
- The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with restorative, surgical, and general dentistry procedures.
- Perform expanded functions in accordance with Tennessee regulations.
- Fabricate and place temporary restorations.
- Take digital X-rays and intraoral photographs.
- Use digital impression scanners and other digital dentistry technology.
- Prepare and turn over operatories efficiently.
- Assist with patient education and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation.
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and infection control protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment.
- Work closely with doctors, hygienists, and the administrative team to create an exceptional patient experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with digital dentistry and dental software is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a developing practice.
