Gorilla.co builds data processing platforms for utility retailers to profile and forecast electricity use, using models like LightGBM to handle time-series data for customer segmentation. The platform ingests historical usage, runs time-series analysis and machine-learning models to forecast demand and identify similar usage patterns, providing segmentation and planning tools. It differentiates itself by specializing in the utility sector, emphasizing deep time-series clustering and data similarity, and offering both software licensing and consulting services. The goal is to help utility companies optimize operations, improve service offerings, and make data-driven decisions in pricing, load forecasting, and customer engagement.

Gorilla named Best Product for Energy & Utilities at the SaaS Awards 2026.

Gorilla named Best Product for Energy & Utilities at the SaaS Awards 2026. August 11, 2026 Gorilla has today announced it has been named Best Product for Energy & Utilities at the 2026 SaaS Awards, recognising its work helping energy retailers to navigate growing market complexity and make faster, more informed commercial decisions. The award comes as energy retailers across the UK and Europe face a fundamentally different operating environment to years gone by. Persistent volatility, increasingly sophisticated products and propositions, growing volumes of data and pressure on margins are making it harder for firms to maintain a timely, consistent understanding of commercial performance. Gorilla is addressing that challenge head-on through its Energy Margin Intelligence (EMI) model: connecting pricing, trading, risk, consumption, settlements and finance data to give energy retailers a shared view of what is driving profitability and enable better decisions across the business. Ruben Van den Bossche, CEO and co-founder of Gorilla, said: 'Winning Best Product for Energy & Utilities means a great deal because Gorilla Group has built Gorilla specifically around the complexity of this industry. 'Energy retailers are being asked to make more sophisticated commercial decisions, at greater speed, in markets that rarely stand still. Our job is to give them the intelligence they need to understand what is happening to margin, why it is happening and what they can do about it.' He added: 'This recognition belongs as much to our customers and partners as it does to the Gorilla team and our technology, as they continue to push us to rethink what is possible in energy retail.' Now in its tenth year, the international SaaS Awards celebrates innovation and excellence across the global software-as-a-service industry. Entries from organisations around the world are assessed by an independent panel of international industry experts, with awards recognising outstanding technology across a broad range of sectors and applications. The recognition also comes as the industry begins to explore the next generation of AI-enabled decision-making. For Gorilla, the opportunity presented by AI begins with strong commercial foundations: connected data, consistent definitions and a clear understanding of commercial performance. Energy Margin Intelligence provides that foundation, enabling retailers to move from understanding performance to acting on it and, increasingly, towards governed automation. James Williams, CEO of The Cloud Awards, congratulated the 2026 winners for demonstrating excellence in an increasingly competitive software market, highlighting reliability, demonstrable ROI and execution among the qualities technology buyers now demand. The SaaS Awards is operated by The Cloud Awards, an international awards organisation recognising innovation across cloud computing, SaaS, cloud security, artificial intelligence and financial technology. Winners are selected by a panel of international industry experts.

CleanChoice Energy selects Gorilla to scale and expand acquisition pricing across U.S. energy markets.

CleanChoice Energy selects Gorilla to scale and expand acquisition pricing across U.S. energy markets. August 5, 2026 Gorilla, the award winning Energy Margin Intelligence platform, has today announced that CleanChoice Energy, a renewable energy supplier serving customers across the United States, has selected Gorilla's platform to scale and expand its acquisition pricing capabilities. Through the deployment, CleanChoice Energy will implement Gorilla's dynamic, matrix-based pricing solution to support a more responsive and scalable pricing framework. Powered by Gorilla's Energy Margin Intelligence (EMI) capabilities, the platform will enable CleanChoice Energy to respond more efficiently to market signals and customer dynamics as it expands across competitive markets. The initial scope includes key U.S. competitive energy markets, including PJM and NYISO, two of the most dynamic and complex retail energy regions in North America. The deployment will provide CleanChoice Energy with the flexibility to expand pricing capabilities into additional markets as the business grows. As CleanChoice Energy continues to scale and evolve its commercial operations, the company is investing in more agile and data-driven pricing capabilities to support long-term growth across increasingly dynamic energy markets. By investing in scalable pricing infrastructure, the business will be better positioned to respond faster to market changes, launch new commercial strategies more efficiently and support continued expansion across competitive U.S. markets. "As we continue to grow, we need a pricing platform that can support a more dynamic, data-driven commercial strategy," said Bryce Schneider, EVP Energy Markets & Portfolio Management at CleanChoice Energy. "Gorilla's approach to Energy Margin Intelligence stood out because it connects pricing decisions with market signals, customer dynamics, and margin performance. This gives us the flexibility to build a scalable commercial foundation as we expand across competitive energy markets." By implementing Gorilla's platform, CleanChoice Energy will gain greater visibility into commercial performance and operational effectiveness across its acquisition strategy. The platform will also support faster execution of new offers and more informed commercial decision making over time. CleanChoice Energy selected Gorilla not only for its technology and deep expertise in pricing and technology, but also for its ability to integrate quickly into existing commercial ecosystems without significant IT complexity, helping accelerate time-to-value, in just three months, and enabling the business to scale pricing capabilities more efficiently. "CleanChoice Energy is an ambitious and fast-growing energy supplier operating in some of the most sophisticated retail markets in North America," said Ruben Van den Bossche, Founder and CEO of Gorilla. "We're excited to support them as they transform their pricing capabilities and build a more agile commercial engine. By combining dynamic pricing with real-time market insight, CleanChoice can respond more efficiently to market signals - helping support its continued growth." For CleanChoice Energy, investing in scalable pricing infrastructure represents a foundational step in building the commercial infrastructure required to scale efficiently, compete effectively in complex markets and continue delivering on its mission as the business grows.

Belgium’S Bold Tech Revolution At The Heart Of Europe

Belgium's tech ecosystem is showing strong signs of growth, maturation, and increasing global relevance. According to European Tech 2024: The Big Picture, Belgian tech companies raised over €4.2 billion in 2024. Major deals included funding to establish a new RD pilot line for advanced chip and systems-on-chip technologies (Imec), expand digital service offerings (team.blue), and accelerate AI-driven ERP development (Odoo). Despite this momentum, the ecosystem remains relatively small and early in its development compared to European and US peers. As outlined in the State of the Belgian Tech Report 2024, 77 per cent of funding is still concentrated in early-stage rounds. While growth is resilient, the scarcity of late-stage funding and exits is a barrier to faster scale-up
