- Perform routine and complex technical laboratory analyses using established procedures and protocols.
- Perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform a full range of laboratory tests, from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
- Assess specimens for correct handling and quality.
- Confirm the accuracy of test results and report findings to physicians.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments.
- Perform and evaluate quality control procedures.
- Perform periodic maintenance and assist with instrument calibration.
- Assist with the proper storage of hazardous materials.
- Maintain competencies and continuing education to stay informed of new developments in the field.
- Assist with the laboratory proficiency testing program.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist qualification is preferred.
