Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, including at least 2 years of formal people-leadership experience managing engineers, or demonstrated equivalent leadership of engineering teams.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated hands-on ownership of a production AWS estate at enterprise scale, including multi-account architecture, landing zone design and the operational reality of running it.
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code as the primary interface, with a track record of eliminating manual console changes in favor of reviewed, versioned code.
  • Experience engineering cloud infrastructure in a regulated environment, such as GxP, validated systems, SOX or a comparable audited control framework, and producing evidence that satisfies auditors.
  • Practical experience supporting AI, machine learning or Generative AI workloads on AWS, including networking, identity and capacity considerations specific to managed inference services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cloud cost and performance as engineering problems, with specific examples of architectural changes that improved efficiency without degrading service.
  • Experience working directly with a hyperscale cloud provider's account and solutions-architecture teams to influence quotas, service adoption and roadmap alignment.
  • Ability to communicate infrastructure trade-offs clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders, including Quality, Security and business partners.
  • Experience coaching senior individual contributors and supporting their technical growth without taking over their technical decisions.
  • Cloud-native modernization and re-platforming, including assessing custom-built services against managed AWS alternatives and sequencing migration waves.
  • AWS Organizations, Control Tower, service control policies and multi-account landing zone design for regulated workloads.
  • Amazon Bedrock platform configuration, including model access, inference profiles, provisioned throughput, service quotas and private endpoints.
  • AWS cloud-native compute and data services, including ECS, EKS, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3 and API Gateway, including harness and benchmark environments built on them.
  • Semantic layer and governed data access patterns on AWS, including Bedrock Knowledge Bases and Athena or Glue catalog integration.
  • AWS networking, including VPC and subnet architecture, PrivateLink and VPC endpoints, Transit Gateway, Route 53 and egress control.
  • AWS IAM, including role and trust policy design, permission boundaries, least privilege, cross-account access and identity federation.
  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and AWS CDK, including module design, state management, policy gates and CI/CD delivery.
  • Migration engineering, including dual-run and cutover planning, backward-compatible interfaces, data and state migration, rollback and decommissioning.
  • AWS cost engineering, including commitment-based discounts, right-sizing, Bedrock inference cost efficiency, tagging and anomaly detection.
  • AWS reliability engineering, including multi-Availability Zone and multi-region design, capacity planning, disaster recovery design and testing.
  • GxP qualification of cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code changes, with validation evidence maintained through migration.
  • Contractor and vendor management.
Responsibilities
  • Own the GenAI cloud-native modernization roadmap on AWS by assessing each service against its managed equivalent, deciding whether to replace, refactor, retain or retire it, and re-platforming onto Bedrock, AgentCore, ECS and EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB and S3.
  • Define the AWS Well-Architected reference architecture and enforce a cloud-native-by-default standard, favoring managed orchestration and durable workflows on Step Functions over bespoke agent development.
  • Engineer the AWS foundation, including Bedrock access and quotas; the landing zone and multi-account architecture on Organizations and Control Tower; and VPC, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway and least-privilege IAM.
  • Codify the estate as Infrastructure as Code in Terraform and AWS CDK through modules, pipelines, drift detection and policy as code, replacing console changes and contributing hands-on where needed.
  • Run migration waves without disrupting users through Route 53 weighted and blue-green cutover, backward-compatible APIs, data migration, documented rollback and decommissioning after the AWS replacement is proven in production.
  • Deliver GxP-qualified AWS infrastructure under change control agreed with Quality and ISRM, and partner with GenAI governance on guardrail, identity and traceability controls.
  • Engineer the hosting substrate for enterprise platform capabilities, including APIM, Content Sphere, Agent Framework, Drafting Assist, the MCP Gateway, the Agent, Skills and MCP catalog, the semantic layer, retrieval services and evaluation harness services.
  • Own cost, performance and resilience engineering through tagging and showback, commitment discounts, Bedrock inference efficiency, multi-Availability Zone and multi-region design, capacity planning, disaster recovery, CloudWatch and X-Ray observability, and reporting on adoption, reliability and cost.
  • Lead, coach and develop the AWS platform engineering team in an inclusive environment, with accountability for timely delivery, budget optimization and engineering quality, while supporting LFRP planning.
  • Own the AWS partnership and cross-cloud alignment through architecture reviews, early access and quota negotiation, position papers on emerging capabilities, adoption of agentic approaches in software development, and parity with the Azure platform engineering sub-team on shared primitives.
  • Stay ahead of new capabilities and changes to ensure constant modernization and evolution.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or Ph.D.
  • Experience leading a large-scale re-platform or cloud migration of an established production service, including legacy decommissioning.
  • Experience running Microsoft Azure alongside AWS and a practical view of where cross-cloud consistency is worth its cost.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional or Machine Learning Specialty.
  • Kubernetes platform engineering with GitOps delivery, cluster lifecycle management and multi-tenancy.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore sufficient to support agentic workloads on the platform.
  • Computer system validation for cloud infrastructure in a pharmaceutical or medical device setting.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol and the AWS infrastructure requirements of hosting MCP servers securely.
  • Experience with FinOps practice for AI and inference workloads.

J&J rises 1% as AbbVie's myeloma drug shows 74% response rate

Johnson & Johnson shares rose roughly 1% to $277.96 Thursday after AbbVie announced its experimental multiple-myeloma drug, etentamig, achieved a 74% response rate and reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 60% compared to standard therapies. AbbVie's trial positions a convenient monthly treatment in the myeloma market for potential outpatient use. However, J&J is defending its growing franchise, with Carvykti driving 6.8% operational growth in Innovative Medicine during the second quarter. According to Reuters, etentamig appears most differentiated after CAR-T therapy rather than as a direct Carvykti substitute. The market is treating AbbVie's advancement as category expansion rather than a direct threat to J&J. J&J's current share price stands 44.08% above its $192.92 valuation estimate, making future safety and durability data critical for investors.

P&G commits $10B in dividends amid 2.8B productivity savings while J&J's 28.5% stock surge masks mid-2027 spinoff risk

Procter & Gamble's dividend strategy is outpacing Johnson & Johnson's despite J&J's stronger stock performance this year. J&J's forward annualised dividend of $5.36 exceeds P&G's $4.354, but its planned mid-2027 DePuy Synthes spinoff threatens its dividend streak. P&G CEO Shailesh Jejurikar committed $10 billion in dividends and $5 billion in buybacks for fiscal 2027, supported by $2.8 billion in productivity savings. The company returned over $15 billion to shareholders in fiscal 2026, including more than $10 billion in dividends. J&J's stock surged 28.5% year-to-date versus P&G's 1.3% gain, driven by strong product performance. However, the upcoming spinoff poses uncertainty, as similar corporate events have disrupted other companies' dividend streaks. P&G faces no such structural risk.

JNJ stock surges 54% as TREMFYA's $2B quarter offsets STELARA's biosimilar decline

Johnson & Johnson's stock surged 54% between late August 2025 and late August 2026, outpacing the S&P 500's 20.5% return. The driver was a product transition that management flagged seven months before the rally began. STELARA faced biosimilar competition and declined 43.2% by mid-2025. Management named TREMFYA as its replacement, targeting the same inflammatory bowel disease patients who comprised 70% of STELARA's prescriptions. TREMFYA grew 30.1% during the same period. By July 2026, TREMFYA posted its first $2 billion quarter with 71% growth, offsetting STELARA's 55.7% decline. This product swap lifted the company's operational sales outlook to a $100.6 billion midpoint, demonstrating revenue durability despite losing a major franchise.
