Requirements
  • A minimum two-year degree from an accredited Diesel Engine Technology Program or equivalent experience in mechanical service work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • PC skills are required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills are necessary.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
  • A Class A or B commercial driver's license is required.
  • The employee must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with no more than two minor violations within the past three years and no major violations within the past five years.
  • The employee must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
  • The employee must wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety glasses or side shields and hearing protection, when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical service support to Power Systems customers in a shop environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines in the shop.
  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines.
  • Perform engine overhauls and other major repairs as needed.
  • Assist with engine tear-downs, clean parts, stage parts for larger engines, and install and test components to ensure the concern is fixed.
  • Order parts for work orders.
  • Report work on timecards and service reports.
  • Work with the service office to coordinate work.
  • Assist the service office with repair quotes.
  • Perform other related duties as requested or assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred.
