Responsibilities
  • Build an artificial intelligence platform foundational to the company's consumption of large language models.
  • Build a scalable and agile architecture that can adapt to the changing artificial intelligence landscape.
  • Integrate fine-tuning and evaluation into the execution cycle.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional programs with accountability for timelines, quality, cost, and risk.
  • Drive predictable delivery using Agile and hybrid delivery models, focusing on outcomes over process.
  • Anticipate delivery risks early and ensure timely mitigation.
  • Define and track delivery and engineering health metrics covering flow, predictability, stability, and business impact.
  • Partner with architects and senior engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and operable.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Champion Agile principles with a delivery-first mindset.
  • Align teams on planning, dependency management, and execution across portfolios.
  • Drive continuous improvement using data, retrospectives, and delivery insights.
  • Lead delivery across multiple tribes.
  • Act as the primary interface between business, product, engineering, risk, and operations stakeholders.
  • Communicate delivery status, risks, and trade-offs in a clear, executive-ready manner.
  • Build trust through transparency, consistency, and dependable execution.
  • Identify practical opportunities to use artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, and automation to improve engineering productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure responsible artificial intelligence adoption aligned with governance, security, and risk frameworks.
  • Support teams in embedding artificial intelligence-assisted tooling into delivery and decision-making processes.
  • Guide teams on pragmatic adoption of generative artificial intelligence without disrupting delivery or increasing operational risk.
  • Lead and develop engineering managers and delivery leaders, fostering accountability and ownership.
  • Create a culture focused on execution excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

NADBank returns to Swiss bond market with $141M issuance for US-Mexico border projects

The North American Development Bank has completed a CHF 125 million ($155 million) bond issuance in the Swiss market, managed by Deutsche Bank. The bond will settle on 29 September 2026, mature on 29 September 2034, and carry a 1.125% coupon rate. The proceeds will be swapped into Mexican pesos and US dollars to fund infrastructure projects in both Mexico and the US. NADBank's strong credit quality and increased investor base contributed to the favourable terms. Moody's and Fitch recently affirmed NADBank's credit ratings of Aa1/Prime-1 and AA/F1 respectively, both with stable outlooks. The international financial institution, equally capitalised by the US and Mexico, finances environmental infrastructure projects in the US-Mexico border region.

Google launches AI agent for banks with Deutsche Bank as design partner

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, an AI agent platform designed for regulated banking environments. The tool features a Financial Research Agent with over 50 specialised financial skills and connects to licensed data from providers including D&B, S&P Global, and others. Deutsche Bank served as the design partner and is deploying the agent in its Corporate Bank for German MidCorp clients. The bank plans to evaluate its use in Private and Investment banking divisions. Early adopters include CME Group, BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, and Macquarie Bank. The platform emphasises audit-ready features such as confidence scores, explicit methodologies, and source citations. It competes with Microsoft's Agent 365 and Salesforce's Agentforce for Financial Services in the regulated finance sector.

Deutsche Bank completes $1.1B buyback, launches $560M program — can it sustain 60% payout target?

Deutsche Bank completed a €1 billion share buyback on 21 August after acquiring 35.7 million treasury shares at a volume-weighted average price of €28. The bank immediately launched a new €500 million buyback programme starting 25 August, scheduled to end no later than 11 December. The new programme is Deutsche Bank's first funded from current-year net profit. The bank reported second-quarter profit after tax of €1.9 billion, up 10% year over year, whilst first-half profit reached a record €4.1 billion. Deutsche Bank's Common Equity Tier 1 ratio stood at 13.9% at 30 June, within its target operating range of 13.5% to 14%. Management aims for a 60% total payout ratio covering dividends and buybacks as a percentage of net profit from 2026.

Thales issues $1.1B bond to finance Exail acquisition

Thales has issued a €1 billion bond in two tranches to finance its acquisition of Exail, announced on 6 July 2026. The bond consists of a €500 million tranche with a four-year term at a 3.50% fixed rate, and another €500 million tranche with an eight-year term at a 3.75% fixed rate. The issuance attracted strong investor demand and was oversubscribed by a diversified investor base. The offering reflects market confidence in Thales's credit quality, rated A2 by Moody's and A- by S&P Global Ratings, both with stable outlooks.
