Requirements

BS in Accounting with a CPA or MBA desired
Minimum 6 years professional experience with at least 2 years in accounting management (i.e., assistant controller, accounting manager)
5+ years manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Perform monthly close, account reconciliations, and account analytics
Lead cost accounting for instrument sales and service revenue lines, including development of accounting processes and procedures to support accounting close
Prepare monthly variance reports and analyze the reasons behind monthly product/department performance and results
Provide fluctuation analysis for product margins and costs by profit and cost centers as well as variances to budget/forecast
Oversee accounts payable function and operations
Coordinate and prepare timely internal and external monthly financial statements
Train, coach, and retain skilled accounting staff
Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
Key contributor in implementation and user-acceptance training of SAP Audit support and preparation of audit requests/support
Assist with ad-hoc projects
Perform other similar and related duties as required

Position Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to manage daily accounting operations and financial reporting. The desired candidate is also technically skilled in cost accounting and manufacturing.

The primary focus of this position is to lead, coordinate and support all accounting operational functions from record to report, facilitating successful accounting close and producing timely and accurate financial reporting. This individual will lead cost accounting for the organization but also manage technical accounting matters such as leases, debt, equity and revenue recognition. The person must have solid communication, analytical, and management skills and should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

This is a multidisciplinary role & this individual will further interface across many parts of the company to help drive proper financial reporting, internal controls, and effective accounting operations. The successful candidate must have a professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA) or master’s degree in business administration (MBA) are preferred. Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting is highly valued.
