Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of experience at an Intermediate Accountant level
  • Exposure to full cycle accounting
  • Ridiculous attention to detail
  • The ability to wow people with your written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, energetic, and a positive attitude
  • Special tricks and techniques for multitasking effectively; and
  • Started or are considering enrolling in the CPA program
Responsibilities
  • Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Owning and maintaining detailed schedules of revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and everything to do with ensuring we get paid
  • Providing oversight on the schedules of prepaid expenses and property and equipment
  • Preparing financial reporting and financial analysis focusing on key performance indicators
  • Preparing variance analysis on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements
  • Managing the payables process and reviewing supporting information prior to payment
  • Monitoring credit card transactions and expense reports, ensuring appropriate relation to business activity
  • Reviewing monthly reconciliations of bank accounts to accounting system
  • Preparing and reporting state, provincial and federal taxes on a timely basis
  • Preparing audit working papers and liaise with external auditors
  • Preparing data-driven reports and implementing new processes and procedures to support the Company's growth
  • Testing and adhering to the Company's internal financial and operational controls and policies
  • Liaising with external contacts when issues or concerns arise; and
  • Other related duties and tasks as assigned, including special projects as they arise
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Technology (SaaS) experience
  • Experience working in a startup, hyper-growth or public accounting environment
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience working with NetSuite; and
  • Completed your Canada or USA CPA designation
