Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Digital Media, Audio Production, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in multimedia content creation, specifically audio and video production.
Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, develop, shoot, and edit compelling video and audio content that presents research and insights to stakeholders in engaging ways.
  • Utilize proficiency in audio/video production to create content that aligns with the Institution's brand identity.
  • Manage complex multimedia projects by effectively scoping, prioritizing, and executing tasks to meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary sound designer for multimedia projects, ensuring professional-grade audio quality across all platforms.
  • Oversee the management of the podcast recording studio and mobile productions, coordinating schedules and technical resources to ensure operational excellence.
  • Perform routine maintenance on recording equipment and manage mobile podcast studio gear.
  • Collaborate with the multimedia team to monitor podcast performance and co-develop editorial or strategic changes that drive the overall success, audience engagement, and impact of Brookings’ podcast network.
  • Train staff on the use of mobile podcast equipment and enforce studio rules to ensure a professional recording environment.
  • Manage and maintain a library of multimedia assets—including video, photo, and audio—to ensure proper organization, tagging, and accessibility.
  • Monitor and archive media appearances by Brookings scholars using TVEyes, ensuring high-value media hits are preserved, tagged, and integrated into the institutional multimedia library.
  • Support the development and dissemination of governance, training, and best practice materials relating to visual brand and multimedia standards.
  • Manage institutional accounts for photo and music licensing platforms to support production needs across the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate multimedia tailored to identified audiences into campaigns that promote Brookings’ research and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date and advise leadership on latest web, design, and social media tools and trends.
  • Actively contribute to internal team and/or organizational work that shapes our systems and our culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience within a broader communications office and/or in a public policy setting is preferred.
