We are seeking a Regional Vice President, Strategic Referral Partnerships to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting our local financial advisory teams, as the client facing business development advisor, skilled in both financial and business exit planning.Ideal new clients typically are high net worth business owners, referred by our strategic referral partners. This is done through the development and cultivation of relationships with our strategic partners, sponsorships, and other centers of influence including, CPAs, Attorney’s, Insurance Agents, Bankers, etc. The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad understanding of wealth management practices, financial planning, and ability to strategically coach owners through business value acceleration and exit planning. The successful candidate is an energetic business development and relationship builder with a flexible entrepreneurial mindset. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the US, with travel requirements of up to 30%.
Primary Job Functions
Drive revenue growth for strategic partner referral programs in assigned market by effectively differentiating WEG’s offerings and value proposition
Establish strong relationships with key personnel at assigned strategic partner programs in market to grow monthly referrals
Consistently generate at least $12M in new assets (or equivalent in planning fees) per month
Educate our partnered financial professionals and clients on financial planning, business value acceleration, exit planning, and investment-based topics through one-on-one and group presentations
Collaborate with WEG’s Advance planning team and financial advisors to close and service clients
Proactively contact and qualify high net worth prospective clients that are introduced through client referrals and marketing channels
Meet with high-net-worth investors and business owners to understand their financial and exit planning needs; and, introduce the value of working with a WEG Advisory team
Assist in the creation, delivery, execution, and management of complex financial and exit planning plans and investment recommendations
Work with the financial advisory team to ensure ongoing client service is delivered after the close and transition
Partner Referral Program Growth
Work with Advisor teams to continue growth of the Program
Expand local Strategic Partner Program to include additional Centers of Influence and existing clients – Build relationships with Centers of Influence – such as CPAs, estate planning attorney’s bankers, and insurance professionals
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in business; finance, economics or related
FINRA Series 65 required
Insurance licenses required
CFP(R) and CEPA(R) designations preferred
9 years of business development / sales experience in investment management and/or financial advisory industry with demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships
Exemplary and pristine compliance and regulatory record
Strong financial advisory and wealth management acumen and experience
A successful track record of converting referrals to clients
Experience working with sponsorships and trade groups to prospect, build a pipeline, and convert new wealth management and exit planning clients
Experience working with small business owners to address their personal financial and exit planning requirements
Proven sales approach in determining the needs of partners and prospects through consultative questions, offering solutions and asking for the right actions and next steps
Willingness to travel regularly in assigned market
Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Excellent communication, presentation, listening and analytical skills
Proven time management and organizational skills in high-volume, high-energy environments

Ability to travel independently as needed
