TheExpeditor, or “Expo” in restaurant talk,is an essential positionfor thefunction of a restaurant. This position ensures that the food leaving the kitchen is correctly prepared according to theticket,the plates are going to the righttables, andoverseesfinishing the plating.The expo is the direct line of communication between the front and back ofhouse.On busy days,the expo will also run foodto theproper tables.
Coordinate timing of food preparation between kitchen and front of house teams
Inspect plated dishes for presentation, completeness, and adherence to order specifications
Ensure all required accompaniments, modifications, and dietary requests are fulfilled for each order
Deliver food to tables promptly using proper service etiquette when servers are not available
Communicate clearly with guests when presenting dishes
Assistservers withset up andpreopeingwork
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and service stations
Monitor ticket timesand escalate delays or issues
Support Kitchen and service staff tomaintainefficient workflow during service
Assistwith stocking service areas and completing side work.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLAND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must ski/snowboard at an intermediate level
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS-
This positionisrequiredtoworkdays,evenings,weekendsand holidayswhile in operation.
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling,pushingand pulling on an occasional basis.
Talking and hearing occur continuouslyin the process of communicatingwith guests,supervisorsand other employees.
