Requirements
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree, or a 2-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Must be able to work long hours when required.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees and guests at all levels in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Must effectively listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Must attend required hotel meetings and trainings.
  • Must participate in manager-on-duty coverage as required.
  • Must maintain regular attendance according to hotel scheduling needs.
  • Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing a nametag.
  • Must comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating, supervising, and directing all aspects of food and beverage outlet operations while maintaining profitability and high product and service quality.
  • Market ideas to promote business, reduce employee turnover, maintain revenue and payroll budgets, and meet budgeted productivity.
  • Oversee all aspects of the outlet's daily operation.
  • Supervise outlet personnel.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work with other food and beverage managers and keep them informed of issues.
  • Keep the immediate supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring all phases of loss prevention in the outlet.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, including wage progress, payroll, revenue, employee schedules, and quarterly action plans.
  • Monitor service quality in the food and beverage outlet.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, standard operating procedures, and requisition procedures.
  • Remain visible on the floor and assist staff during each meal period.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Ensure employees are trained on standard operating procedures and technical job tasks.
  • Participate in or conduct departmental and hotel training.
  • Interview candidates for front-of-house food and beverage positions and follow hiring-approval standards.
  • Complete tip reporting.
  • Understand, implement, and monitor corporate outlet promotions, including buffet and three-meal concept standards when applicable.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist with implementing solutions.
  • Handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them.
  • Understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives.
  • Perform other duties requested by management.
