Requirements
  • A four-year bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 10 years of design work experience in the offshore industry is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Understand the project and client's contractual requirements and scope of work, clarify the scope of work, and supply it to form the contract basis with the client.
  • Support the Project Management Team with process deliverable schedule updates.
  • Prepare process philosophies, including control and shutdown philosophy, isolation philosophy, sparing philosophy, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram philosophy, and vent, relief, and flare load calculation philosophy.
  • Develop process simulation heat and mass balance sheets.
  • Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Utility Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and Safe Charts.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations for separators, vessels, and storage tanks; line sizing calculations; hydraulic analysis; and flare network design.
  • Prepare and review technical queries and assist the Lead Engineer in concluding technical queries with the client.
  • Perform process studies such as dynamic depressurization studies.
  • Prepare process system design reports, vent and drain reports, utility summaries, and other process reports.
  • Prepare process datasheets for mechanical equipment and instruments.
  • Coordinate with other discipline departments regarding process inputs.
  • Perform interdisciplinary checks and provide input to other discipline engineering deliverables, including the Mechanical Equipment List, Electrical Load List, Topsides Weight Report, mechanical and instrument datasheets, and other discipline-critical philosophies as required.
  • Review vendor documents and provide comments to ensure that the vendor design meets project requirements.
  • Update and follow through on third-party specialist process and safety studies, including reviewing study reports and attending workshops.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer in managing interfaces with hull and marine systems such as cargo and utilities.
  • Provide input to operating manuals and pre-commissioning and commissioning manuals.
  • Attend project meetings with internal discipline, client, interdisciplinary, supply chain management, subcontractor, vendor, and third-party participants as required; address and clarify engineering issues and follow through on meeting actions.
  • Identify client comments and communications, ensure that client comments and requirements are implemented, provide feedback to the Project Management and Commercial teams, and raise trends or potential change orders as necessary.
  • Assist the Lead Engineer with project process engineering support from engineering kickoff through detail engineering, as-built engineering, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and warranty test runs as required by project requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain process design data to support project feasibility studies, tender and construction documents, and basic and detailed design drawings.
  • Assemble process design engineered submittal manuals and booklets containing drawings, schematics, documents, reports, calculations, and related materials, and provide copying support for contractors and customers.
  • Liaise with the package engineer to obtain updated information when required and maintain the process design submittal filing system in the engineering reference library.
  • Prepare process design project training manuals and owner's manuals for on-site training of contractors and customers.
  • Monitor and follow up on changes made by junior team members to operational process project drawings and records, and maintain lessons learned compiled during project execution.

Ge Vernova And Seatrium Consortium Awarded Third Contract To Build Hvdc System For Tennet?S Offshore Grid Project In The Netherlands

Monday, 10 June 2024The project is expected to begin in June 2024, with commissioning expected by 2031. The contract is part of the five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement with TenneT announced by the GE Vernova-Seatrium consortium in March 2023. The agreement was signed to cover three projects, each valued at approximately EURO 2 billion: IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma, and Nederwiek 2. The current contract is for Nederwiek 2, TenneT’s third project with this consortium. The contracts for IJmuiden Ver Beta and IJmuiden Ver Gamma were awarded to the consortium in March 2023.The HVDC system will support TenneT's sustainability goal of connecting 40 GW of offshore wind energy in the German and Dutch North Sea and will serve the Nederwiek 2 offshore wind farm, located approximately 95 kilometres off the coast of the Netherlands.“With the successful call-off of Nederwiek 2 from the Framework Cooperation Agreement with our Partners GE Vernova and Seatrium, we are now starting into the delivery of the third project with this consortium” said Dr. Johannes Kammer, Associate Director of Large Projects Offshore - 2GW, TenneT
